Fees: Article 15 of the Regulations provide that public bodies may apply fees which are considered reasonable for supplying the information requested. Under the Regulations, and in line with Circular AIE/2/2017 from the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Kerry County Council applies a fee of €20 per hour for search, retrieval and copying fees, but only where the cost of a request exceeds €100. Where any fees apply, the requester is fully advised about any fees and the reasons for same. No fee is payable in relation to an internal of a decision on a request.
"The Access to Information on the Environment Regulations provide that, subject to certain exceptions, information relating to the environment held by, or for, a public authority, must be made available on request to any person without that person having to state an interest.
